Introducing the Industry’s Finest: The Prince & Princess of the Press
Philadelphia, PA (PRWEB) August 17, 2005
They are the industryÂs hottest new duo. Why? Simply because they are young, vibrant and doing nearly everything one can think of. Between the two of them, they wear the hats of CEO, publicist, photojournalist, actor, singer, songwriter, pianist, audio technician, manager, speaker, fashion expert, and event coordinator. They are Warren Thomas and Sabrina Gantt, recently noted as The Prince & Princess of the Press. Affectionately known to each other as ÂWó and ÂBriÂ, these young professionals have been seen around the country from major award shows and nightclubs to political meetings and parties, seizing each as an opportunity to obtain top celebrity interviews, photographs, and meetings. Known for their distinct and original sense of fashion and impeccable style, matching outfits serve as their signature, alerting rooms and red carpets alike, of their presence. Members of the press are rarely brought into the limelight but this royal couple is learning how to handle serving the public as well as the public eye; especially at the tender ages of 21 and 22. I recently sat down with the prince and princess for an in-depth interview about them and their plans for the immediate future.
[B. Zadel] Okay weÂve got to get something straight. Exactly who does what?
[Warren] Well IÂm CEO of The WATt Agency, the company we operate under. I am also the publicist, songwriter, pianist, and manager. Sabrina is the photojournalist, actor, singer, and audio technician. Both of us are speakers, fashion experts, and event coordinators. IÂm 22 years old and Sabrina is 21.
[B. Zadel] Now, since you both do so much, why do you have the titles of Prince and Princess of the Press?
[Sabrina] [Laughing] We get that question often. The press is everywhere and includes so much more than television or periodicals. ItÂs all forms of mass media; movies, sports, fashion, political functions, concerts, just about everything in popular culture that inspires the general public. Since Warren and I do have numerous God-given talents and abilities between us, weÂve decided to embrace and capitalize on them instead of putting them aside as so many people do. I guess, I hope people intend the titles of prince and princess to represent the combination of our youthfulness, strong characters, and professional/social distinctiveness.
[Warren] We are definitely involved in a lot. We have a newsletter coming out entitled WATTAGE, we are scheduled to do some small work in a HBO film later this month, and scheduled to attend NY Fashion Week, the BET Comedy Awards, and several speaking engagements in September. It is all very exciting!
[B. Zadel] How did the two of you meet?
[Sabrina] Well IÂm from Lawnside, NJ and WarrenÂs from Philly, [Warren  West Philly] but weÂre moving to Atlanta, GA in September. Anyway, we consistently saw each other in passing in our local church circles for about six months. Warren was the manager and publicist for a gospel artist by the name of Benita Farmer. He got in touch with me through a mutual friend because he heard that I did good work with sound and Benita was in need of a sound technician. After a few Tuesday night rehearsals and a couple of band road trips, we became close friends and the rest is history.
[Warren] SabrinaÂs a dork. [Laughing] No, no, no. She is one of the brightest and most unique people I have ever met. I count myself privileged to call her friend and colleague.
[B. Zadel] Is there anyone the two of you look to for inspiration or advice?
[Warren] Wendy Williams, the undeniable Queen of the Media. We love her. She has strategically positioned herself to serve has not only a voice, but a decision maker in various areas of entertainment. She catches a great deal of flack from critics but sheÂs truly one of the best in the biz.
[Sabrina] We also study the careers of people such as Oprah Winfrey, Katie Couric, Matt Lauer, Russell Simmons, and even Jennifer Lopez. But, there are a few entertainers that weÂve gotten to know on somewhat of a personal level that are just great. Comedian Denny Live, actor Guy Torry, singer Hezekiah Walker, Essence best-selling author Brenda Thomas, to name a few.
[B. Zadel] What do the two of you like to do for fun?
[Sabrina] I enjoy long walks on the beach, beautiful sunsets, snuggling up with a good book, shopping and chocolate, the simple pleasures of any woman. Oh, and I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
[Warren] I like doing anything involving music, especially playing or writing it, grilling, football, and hanging out with my auntie. I loovvveee my auntie.
[B. Zadel] What advice, if any, would you give to people trying to make it in the ÂbusinessÂ?
[Warren] We have so much weÂre trying to accomplish. ÂThe hustle is consistent, it never stops, remember that. When you reach a certain level donÂt become content, always strive for the next level, and the next after that. And remember to always put GOD first.
[Sabrina] Complacency is the enemy of excellence. People look at us, even some of our friends, and assume that weÂre some sort of celebrities because they see our picture in a magazine or see us going to different events or hear us on the radio or something. When the truth of the matter is that we are just like everyone else. One of the benefits of meeting the celebrities we meet is that we get to see them in front of the camera as well as behind it; and truth be told, they are just working like any other person. Only they have been blessed to capture the attention of the masses. Warren and I have made it a point to always utilize whatever attention we get for a positive purpose such as speaking out at different gatherings or bringing critical issues to light.
[B. Zadel] Where do you two see yourselves in the next year?
[Warren] In movies, my songs on albums, reaching out to communities nationwide promoting success, and my company known as one of the premiere PR companies in the nation.
[Sabrina] I want the growth of the WATt Agency to be significant. I also want to have placed decent roles in various movies and television shows.
